Youth Mobilization Officer
Job Summary
The Youth Mobilization Officer is responsible for mobilizing youth leaders at the kebele level, engaging youth in community service initiatives, and building their capacities through structured programs. The role involves implementing youth mobilization strategies, supporting entrepreneurship and business development training, establishing Micro and Small Enterprise Initiatives (MSEI), and maintaining rigorous project documentation and data quality control.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Mobilization & Engagement:
Collaborate with kebele and woreda implementation teams to execute effective youth mobilization strategies, drive demand generation, and support community service orientation sessions.
Capacity Building & Entrepreneurship:
Support and follow up on business development and entrepreneurship training for youth engaged in community services, and assist in establishing MSEI at one-stop service centers.
Data Management & Quality Control:
Track youth intake registrations, enter data into computer systems, conduct quality checks to resolve data discrepancies, and ensure proper project documentation at the woreda level.
Monitoring & Learning:
Conduct supportive supervisions, review meetings, and pause-and-reflect sessions; document best practices and share success stories across platforms.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Work closely with zonal, woreda, and kebele level actors, providing timely feedback and technical assistance to the team leader.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related discipline.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional work experience in youth mobilization, community engagement, or similar development programs. Prior experience working with local government and community stakeholders (zonal, woreda, and kebele levels) is essential.
