Job Summary
Save the Children is seeking an Education professional for a temporary contract (six months with a possible extension) based in Gode. The role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day education project activities, managing budgets across multiple awards, co-chairing the Education cluster at the sub-national or regional level, and ensuring high-quality, inclusive, and gender-sensitive programming.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate day-to-day implementation of education project activities, develop detailed implementation plans, and monitor performance against indicators.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to education staff, teachers, and partners while promoting inclusive and child-friendly approaches.
Liaise with government education authorities, participate in education cluster meetings, and represent Save the Children in relevant forums.
Support data collection, review project performance data, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets, assist in forecasting, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
Mainstream child safeguarding into all education activities and ensure adherence to SCI policies and Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
Education
BA/B.Sc. degree in an area of education or equivalent in development studies (an MSc/MA/MEng level in relevant areas of social development or equivalent is preferred).
Experience
Minimum of 6 years of related work experience in managing humanitarian and/or recovery programs, with experience in multi-location programme management and budgeting.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in both Somali and English (verbal and written) is required.
