The Senior Driver works under the general supervision of the Finance and Administration Officer to drive, maintain, and manage the project vehicle for the SunGold Project. The role ensures safe and reliable transportation of authorized personnel, goods, and materials while supporting routine field travel, event logistics, and administrative arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation & Transport:
Drive assigned vehicles for the transport of authorized clients, visitors, goods, messages, and mail while strictly obeying traffic rules, road signs, and safety regulations.
Maintenance & Upkeep:
Perform daily checks (oil, water, battery, brakes, tires), conduct minor repairs, arrange for major servicing, keep the vehicle clean, and maintain accurate logs for trips, daily mileage, and gas consumption.
Logistics & Coordination:
Meet official personnel at airports, facilitate immigration and customs formalities, negotiate and coordinate with local authorities, and ensure proper regulatory procedures are followed in case of accidents.
Administrative & Field Support:
Produce weekly mileage records, support routine field visits and grantee documentation by taking photographs and assisting with basic M&E data collection, and help with workshop and meeting logistics, participant registration, and preparation of materials.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
At least three years of relevant experience, including professional driving experience and demonstrated background supporting transport, logistics, store, inventory, procurement, or office supplies management.
Licensing:
Valid driving license with a clean and safe driving record.
Required Skills & Competencies
Comprehensive knowledge of driving rules and regulations, vehicle inspection, minor repairs, and safe driving practices.
Good knowledge of project activity areas and current road and highway conditions.
Basic recordkeeping skills, computer literacy, and ability to maintain vehicle logs, inventory records, and equipment documentation.
Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with a trustworthy, reliable, and courteous approach.
