FSL Officer

Requirnment

The role is responsible for the day-to-day implementation, close monitoring, and evaluation of project activities for the Climate Smart Sustainable Livelihood for Women program. The incumbent will secure commitments and accountability for food security and livelihoods (FSL) results, ensure correct beneficiary targeting procedures, and manage community engagement within the implementation area.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for day-to-day activities, implementation, follow-up, monitoring, and evaluation of FSL project activities in the targeted Woreda.

Work closely with the FSL Project Coordinator, local government line ministries, and communities in planning and coordinating activities.

Ensure correct beneficiary selection procedures and criteria are followed by community mobilizers, representatives, and committees.

Communicate project activities, plans, distribution dates, and verification conditions adequately to beneficiaries.

Provide regular progress reports, monthly/quarterly monitoring plans, and review reports to the FSL Coordinator.

Ensure Child Rights programming is effectively incorporated and that the project fulfills child rights in terms of SCI’s strategic and thematic plans.

Organize sessions to sensitize communities about the purpose and modalities of food security and livelihoods project components.

Ensure all relevant distribution data and documents (such as Beneficiary Lists and Master Lists) are correctly completed.

Work closely with implementing partners to oversee the quality of work and provide technical support.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

Education

B.A/B.Sc. degree in Agriculture, Livelihoods, Agronomy, Rural Development, Climate Change, or a related field.

Experience

At least 3 years of proven experience in livelihoods, NRM and DRR, and food security interventions in NGOs or similar organizations, preferably in pastoral areas.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of Climate Smart Agriculture practices.

Substantial experience in managing teams, coordinating, community mobilization, planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring, and reporting.

Proven ability to manage a complex and demanding workload with excellent report writing and English proficiency skills.

Good advocacy, communication, presentation, facilitation, and strong interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of the local language.
