Job Summary
The Electrician Technician is responsible for managing, maintaining, and repairing electrical, electronic, data, and automation systems to ensure the uninterrupted, safe functioning of hospital and rehabilitation center facilities. The role covers general and extraordinary maintenance, new installations, troubleshooting across various technical systems (such as power, HVAC, medical gases, and water), and supporting junior staff development.
Key Responsibilities
System Maintenance & Installation:
Read technical drawings and diagrams (P&ID, single-line, block, layouts) to install, repair, and maintain low-voltage power systems, diesel generators, photovoltaic systems, lighting, and control panels.
Equipment Servicing:
Install and service industrial/domestic machinery such as pumps, fans, inverters, refrigerators, ovens, and washing machines.
Cross-Disciplinary Maintenance:
Perform ordinary and extraordinary preventive and corrective electrical maintenance for water, HVAC, medical gases, LPG, firefighting, and wastewater systems.
Inspections & Reporting:
Monitor operating parameters, conduct system tests, troubleshoot faults, and maintain detailed documentation and logs of actions taken.
Team Support & Training:
Collaborate with supervisors and contractors, share technical knowledge, support training programs for junior resources, and assist with store inventory and procurement monitoring.
Safety & Compliance:
Strictly adhere to health and safety standards, wear protective equipment, and follow precise procedures for high-risk tasks.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
Work Experience
Minimum of
4 years
of relevant professional experience in a similar electrical or technical role.
Language Proficiency:
Good command of written and spoken
English, Amharic, and Tigrinya
.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in electronics, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering principles.
Basic to good computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
Strong organizational skills, reliability, high attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
Physical & Schedule Flexibility:
Willingness to perform heavy work (moving and lifting loads), work on rotating shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed), and work remunerated overtime.
