Job Summary
Safaricom Ethiopia is seeking a Fintech Solutions Architect to facilitate technical and commercial collaborations while creating end-to-end solution architectures that guide the successful delivery of products, services, and technology initiatives. Operating within the M-Pesa Technology department, the architect will develop and maintain end-to-end technical solutions enabling the organization to achieve its mission, vision, and values systematically. By bridging technical and commercial stakeholders, the role ensures effective progress through standard-setting, systems design, and agile execution.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in strategy formulation sessions for both technology and commercial domains, developing and maintaining high-level and low-level system designs.
Address technical and commercial compromises to minimize technical debt while maintaining business-as-usual (BAU) delivery.
Define AS-IS and TO-BE services architecture guided by business plans and ambitions, detailing integrations, protocols, and connectivity.
Conduct research and development for system design by building prototypes, frameworks, and foundations for technical development teams.
Drive the adoption of ISO, ITIL, TOGAF, and TM Forum standards into systems architecture, integration practices, and service delivery models.
Qualifications
Education
Degree in Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Certifications in Solution Architecture and Cloud expertise are an added advantage).
Experience
At least 2 years of broad technical background covering databases, applications, infrastructure, cloud, development, enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, and system design experience, including at least 1 year as a developer or systems engineer.
Required Skills
Technical Skills:
Working knowledge of all technical domains in telecoms including VAS, Charging, CRM, and Digital Financial Services, alongside expertise in industry standards like TOGAF and TM Forum.
