Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Phlebotomist to join our medical team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients safely and efficiently, ensuring correct specimen labeling and preparation, and delivering compassionate care while strictly adhering to laboratory safety and health regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Specimen Collection:
Perform safe, accurate blood collection (venipuncture and capillary sampling) from patients in accordance with medical protocols.
Sample Handling & Processing:
Label, record, store, and prepare blood samples properly for laboratory analysis and testing.
Patient Care & Safety:
Verify patient identity, explain procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain strict infection control and safety standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Phlebotomy, or a related qualification recognized by the applicable Ethiopian health regulatory framework.
Core Competencies:
Excellent phlebotomy and technical skills, strong attention to detail, patient-focused communication, and knowledge of safety and hygiene protocols.
