Job Summary
The Accounting Manager oversees the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, strict regulatory compliance, and robust internal controls. The role manages day-to-day general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets while leading the month-end close process and guiding the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting & Reporting:
Supervise daily accounting operations, maintain financial data integrity, lead month-end and year-end close processes, and prepare timely financial reports in compliance with IFRS and local tax laws.
Accounts Payable (AP):
Manage end-to-end creditor workflows, enforce 3-way matching with GRNs, reconcile vendor accounts, monitor goods-in-transit (GIT), and oversee fixed asset registers.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Oversee customer invoicing, collections, aging reports, revenue recognition, bad debt provisions, and credit control procedures in collaboration with the sales team.
Team Management & Internal Controls:
Coach and supervise the accounting team, strengthen internal controls, and support internal/external audits.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Work Experience
Minimum of
5 years
of professional accounting experience, with at least
2 years
in a supervisory or management role.
Required Skills & Competencies
Solid, hands-on knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
Proficiency with enterprise accounting systems/ERPs (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics or similar platforms).
