Job Summary
The Finance Head oversees the organization''s entire financial reporting and accounting operations. The role ensures strict compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards and Ethiopian tax laws, manages month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinates external audits, assists with budgeting and forecasting, and provides leadership and mentorship to the junior accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
Ensure all accounting records comply with GAAP/IFRS standards and Ethiopian tax regulations.
Prepare accurate financial reports and maintain complete, audit-ready accounting documentation.
Coordinate with external auditors and supply all requested supporting schedules and documents.
Monitor internal financial controls and recommend continuous process improvements.
Supervise, train, mentor, and review the work of junior accounting staff.
Assist executive management with budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
Educational Background:
Bachelor''s Degree (BA/BSc) in Accounting or Finance
(Professional certifications such as ACCA or CPA are an added advantage)

Work Experience
Minimum of
5 years
of relevant professional accounting experience
(Prior experience in a hospital, manufacturing company, or large private organization is preferred)

Required Skills & Competencies
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Hands-on experience with computerized accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, ERP systems).
Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, GAAP/IFRS, and Ethiopian tax laws.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
