Job Summary
The Senior Architect will be responsible for leading and managing architectural design activities from concept development through detailed design and construction supervision. The role will involve developing innovative and practical architectural solutions, coordinating with clients, consultants, engineers, and contractors, and ensuring that projects comply with approved designs, technical standards, building codes, and project requirements.
About the Job
Lead the development of architectural concepts, designs, drawings, and technical documentation for various projects.
Prepare and review architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, specifications, and construction documents.
Manage architectural design projects from concept development through construction and completion.
Coordinate architectural designs with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and other engineering disciplines.
Review project requirements, site conditions, client requirements, and applicable building regulations before developing designs.
Conduct site visits and provide architectural guidance during construction.
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved architectural drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Review shop drawings, material submissions, samples, and technical documents submitted by contractors.
Identify design and construction issues and provide appropriate technical solutions.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, government authorities, and other project stakeholders.
Participate in project meetings and provide technical advice on architectural matters.
Review and approve architectural drawings and other project deliverables within the scope of responsibility.
Support preparation of project proposals, design presentations, reports, and technical submissions.
Ensure architectural designs consider functionality, aesthetics, sustainability, safety, accessibility, and cost effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, standards, and project requirements.
Monitor project progress and assist in resolving architectural issues that may affect project schedules and costs.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architects and other design team members.
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, specifications, correspondence, and other project documentation.
Perform other related architectural duties assigned by management.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (BSc/B.Arch) in Architecture or a related field from a recognized university.
Master’s Degree (MSc/MA) in Architecture or a related specialization is an advantage.
Experience
Minimum of
8 years of relevant professional experience
in architectural design, consultancy, construction supervision, or related areas.
Strong experience managing architectural projects from design development through construction supervision.
Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.
Technical Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of architectural design principles and construction practices.
Excellent ability to interpret and prepare architectural drawings and technical documentation.
Proficiency in architectural design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other relevant programs.
Good understanding of building codes, construction standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and detailing.
Ability to review drawings and identify design coordination and construction issues.
Strong project coordination and construction supervision skills.
