Job Summary
Wasasa Microfinance S.C. is seeking a full-time, permanent Company Secretary to support effective corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and legal advisory functions. The position coordinates Board and Board Committee activities, maintains statutory and corporate records, and advises the Board and Management on governance, legal, and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities
Provide secretarial and governance support to the Board of Directors and its Committees.
Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and resolutions, and ensure proper documentation and follow-up of action points.
Maintain statutory registers, corporate records, and other governance documents.
Advise the Board and Management on legal, corporate governance, and compliance matters while ensuring adherence to applicable laws.
Facilitate effective communication between the Board, Management, shareholders, and regulatory bodies.
Support the development, review, and implementation of corporate policies and governance frameworks.
Qualifications
Education
LLB or Master’s Degree in Law (LLM), or MA/BA Degree in Management with a Diploma in Law or a related field. Experience in the financial or microfinance sector is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in Company Secretariat, Corporate Governance, Legal, Compliance, or related areas.
Language Proficiency:
Proficiency in Afaan Oromo, Amharic, and English.
Required Skills
Technical Competencies:
Strong knowledge of corporate governance and legal frameworks, minute-taking, report writing, and high integrity/confidentiality.
