Job Summary
Samanu is seeking a skilled Auto Mechanic to perform comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance on company vehicles, ensuring optimal fleet reliability and safety. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, repairing critical vehicle components, and maintaining detailed service records while adhering to manufacturer guidelines and company safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, routine servicing, and oil/fluid replacements on company vehicles.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, starting, charging, overheating, and braking vehicle faults.
Repair and replace defective engine, transmission, suspension, braking, steering, and cooling-system components.
Inspect vehicles before and after major trips and coordinate with the Transport/Administration team regarding vehicle availability.
Maintain proper records of maintenance, repairs, spare parts, and lubricants while keeping a clean and safe workshop environment.
Qualifications
Education
Diploma or Level III/IV in Automotive Mechanics, Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (relevant technical certification is an advantage).
Experience
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as an Auto Mechanic, with experience working on commercial vehicles, company fleets, trucks, vans, or pickups preferred.
Required Skills
Technical Skills:
Practical knowledge of engine maintenance, transmission systems, brake systems, steering/suspension, cooling systems, vehicle electrical systems, and diagnostic scanner operation.
