Job Summary

We are seeking a competent and dynamic applicant for the position of

Supplementary Feeding Program Facilitator

. The successful candidate will support the planning and implementation of supplementary feeding activities for vulnerable children, monitor nutritional status and growth, maintain accurate beneficiary records, and conduct community nutrition education and awareness activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in

Food Science and Applied Nutrition, Home Economics, Clinical Nursing

, or a related field.

Relevant professional experience of

1 year or more

.

Previous experience working in nutrition, supplementary feeding, community health, child nutrition, or related programs is an advantage.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and oversee daily targeted nutrition and food distribution activities for vulnerable children.

Identify cases of

moderate and severe acute malnutrition

and take appropriate action in accordance with program guidelines.

Track individual beneficiary growth trends and maintain accurate and up-to-date beneficiary records and files.

Conduct periodic nutritional measurements, including

Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC), height, and weight

.

Deliver practical cooking demonstrations to caregivers and community members.

Conduct community awareness and nutrition education sessions on balanced diets and appropriate child feeding practices.

Conduct home visits for absent beneficiaries to prevent program dropouts and address non-compliance or other barriers to participation.

Monitor beneficiary participation and follow up on children requiring additional nutritional support.

Maintain accurate documentation and records of nutrition activities, beneficiary measurements, food distribution, and follow-up visits.

Perform other duties related to the supplementary feeding program as assigned by management.

Required Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of child nutrition, supplementary feeding, and basic nutritional assessment.

Ability to accurately conduct and record MUAC, height, and weight measurements.

Good understanding of balanced diets and appropriate child feeding practices.

Strong community mobilization and nutrition education skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong record-keeping and documentation skills.

Ability to conduct home visits and work effectively with vulnerable children and their caregivers.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Commitment to supporting vulnerable children and improving community nutrition outcomes.
