Purpose of the Job
To review, analyze, and provide feedback on documentation produced by the various functions of the Commission. The role contributes to developing standardized tools, templates, working policies, and guidelines to improve the quality and consistency of the Commission’s outputs. It also supports the implementation of organization-wide policies, guidelines, and initiatives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Research legal and human rights trends and draft relevant policies and working procedures.
Maintain close partnerships with the Commission’s functions and directorates to ensure the quality of its documentation and public outputs.
Review, analyze, and provide feedback to improve the quality of investigation and monitoring reports, training manuals, and other communication outputs.
Prepare standard tools, templates, working policies, and guidelines appropriate for the Commission’s different functions.
Guide the consistent application of working policies, guidelines, tools, and templates developed to standardize practices within the Commission.
Support and assist in the preparation and production of the Commission’s outputs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Educational Qualifications
Master’s degree in Human Rights Law, Master of Laws (LLM), International Law, or a related field.
Work Experience
At least six (6) years of experience in writing, editing, or producing human rights-related outputs.
Required Skills and Competencies
Computer literacy.
Strong command of Amharic and English.
Knowledge of other local languages is an advantage.
Strong research, analytical, writing, editing, and documentation skills.
Ability to develop and standardize policies, guidelines, tools, and templates.
