Job Summary
We are seeking an analytical and target-driven Senior Cost and Budget Officer with 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably within the hospitality or manufacturing sectors. In this role, you will oversee annual budgeting processes, conduct detailed product/service cost analyses, monitor financial variances, optimize operational spend, and provide executive management with actionable financial insights to drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Budget Preparation & Control:
Lead the formulation, consolidated modeling, and execution of annual operating budgets, capital expenditure (CapEx) plans, and periodic rolling forecasts across all departments.
Cost Accounting & Variance Analysis:
Establish and refine standard costing models; perform monthly variance analyses comparing actual spend against budgets, standard costs, and target margins; and report key drivers to management.
Manufacturing Cost Control:
Track raw material consumption, direct labor, yield loss, bill of materials (BOM), overhead allocations, unit production costs, and factory inventory valuations.
Hospitality Cost Control:
Monitor Food & Beverage (F&B) recipes and portion costs, room operational spend, inventory wastage, guest service cost allocations, and property-level prime costs.
Financial Optimization & Reporting:
Identify cost-saving opportunities, conduct cost-benefit analyses for capital investments or new product lines, and prepare monthly cost control dashboards for senior leadership.
Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Cost & Management Accounting. Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
Work Experience
Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and budget management, with background in manufacturing or hospitality preferred.
Technical & ERP Skills:
Advanced proficiency in financial modeling in Microsoft Excel, cost accounting frameworks, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Peachtree/Sage).
Core Competencies:
Deep understanding of cost structures (BOM, F&B costing, activity-based costing); high analytical precision; clear report-writing; and persuasive communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
