Job Summary
Responsible for supporting the delivery of safe, accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic laboratory services across both Junior and Senior levels. The role involves performing specimen collection, processing, testing, quality control, documentation, and patient-centered laboratory support, with senior roles providing additional technical guidance, supervision, and quality assurance oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Perform laboratory investigations according to approved SOPs and quality standards while operating equipment and ensuring accurate results.
Perform safe and professional venipuncture, phlebotomy, patient preparation, and proper specimen handling, labeling, and transportation.
Follow laboratory quality control, quality assurance, biosafety, and infection prevention standards while reporting incidents and errors promptly.
Monitor reagents, consumables, equipment operation, inventory control, and troubleshooting.
Maintain accurate patient records, confidentiality, and utilize LIS/HIS/EMR systems effectively.
Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Senior-Level Responsibilities:
Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior staff, review quality control results, support competency assessments, and assist with audits and process optimization.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
Education
Junior Level:
BSc Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Laboratory Technology or a related field with a valid professional license.
Senior Level:
MSc Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Laboratory Technology or a related field with a valid professional license.
Experience
Junior Level:
1–3 years of relevant laboratory experience with strong practical competency in phlebotomy and specimen collection.
Senior Level:
3–4 years of relevant laboratory experience with demonstrated technical, quality assurance, and supervisory capabilities.
Required Skills & Competencies
Clinical laboratory testing, phlebotomy, laboratory quality control, infection prevention, and equipment operation.
Documentation, reporting, LIS/HIS/EMR system utilization, and attention to detail.
