Job Summary
The Human Resource Officer manages personnel files, attendance tracking, leave administration, recruitment registration, and employment contract renewals for branch staff and outsourced personnel. Reporting to the Branch Administration and Finance Officer, the role ensures smooth HR operations, accurate data maintenance, and adherence to company policies and labor laws in Debre Birhan.
Key Responsibilities
Personnel Records Management:
Maintain custody of personnel files for branch staff and outsourced service employees, keeping records updated regarding marital status, education, and personal data.
Attendance & Time Tracking:
Collect, compile, and summarize daily and monthly attendance data, overtime records, and punctuality logs for branch and outsourced personnel.
Leave & Contract Administration:
Record and track leave balances, process leave requests, follow up on employment contract renewals or terminations, and handle clearance certificates for departing employees.
Recruitment & Selection Support:
Receive job applications, register applicants during vacancy announcements, collect manpower requisitions, and post official personnel notices.
Performance & Administrative Support:
Distribute, collect, and review performance appraisal forms, assist in training need assessments, draft routine correspondence, and produce regular statistical HR reports.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Human Resources Management (HRM), Management, Accounting, or another business-related field.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional work experience in human resources or personnel administration.
Required Skills & Competencies
Basic knowledge of human resource management principles, practices, and labor legislation.
Strong administrative, record-keeping, and communication capabilities.
