The Head Accountant will lead the accounting function of the hospitality operation and will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, controls, revenue reconciliation, cash management and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting and financial operations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
Review daily revenue reports and reconcile revenue from relevant operational outlets.
Monitor cash, bank and POS transactions and ensure timely reconciliations.
Oversee accounts payable, receivables and supplier reconciliations.
Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections.
Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and investigate significant variances.
Ensure accurate recording of revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities.
Implement and maintain effective internal financial controls.
Coordinate inventory and stock-related financial controls with relevant departments.
Ensure timely statutory deductions, tax filings and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Supervise and develop members of the Accounts team.
Prepare financial analysis and reports for management decision-making.
Identify opportunities for cost control and improved financial efficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree/HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
ICAN, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibility.
Previous accounting experience within the hotel or hospitality industry is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of revenue reconciliation, cost control, budgeting and financial reporting.
Good understanding of Nigerian taxation and statutory reporting requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Strong leadership and people-management skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
Salary: ₦400,000–₦500,000 monthly
