The Group Accountant will oversee accounting activities across multiple business units, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, regulatory compliance and timely consolidation of financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accuracy of financial records.
Review bank, supplier, customer and intercompany reconciliations.
Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash-flow activities.
Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of transactions across business units.
Prepare management accounts and financial performance reports.
Implement and monitor internal financial controls.
Coordinate statutory tax filings and other regulatory obligations.
Support internal and external audit processes.
Monitor intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.
Supervise and provide guidance to accounting personnel across the group.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree/HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
ICAN, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5–7 years’ progressive accounting experience, preferably within a group or multi-business environment.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation and accounting standards.
Experience preparing consolidated management accounts.
Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and supervisory ability.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Salary: ₦600,000–₦700,000 monthly
