About the Role
We are a furniture manufacturing company based in Addis Ababa, looking for a Furniture Designer to join our team. The role involves on-site measurement, CAD drafting/production drawings, 3D rendering, and following projects from design to production. Recent graduates and junior designers are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Site Measurement & Communication:
Conduct on-site measurements, understand client requirements, and provide space planning and customization solutions.
CAD Drafting & Detailing:
Use AutoCAD to produce floor plans, elevations, detailed drawings, and production cut sheets for whole-house custom furniture, ensuring compliance with factory production standards, work with your own computer.
3D Rendering:
Proficiently use 3ds Max, SketchUp, Kujiale, or similar software to create high-quality 3D renderings for client presentations.
Drawing Review & Follow-up:
Hand over accurate drawings to the production team, follow up on sample making and production, and resolve design/technical conflicts on-site.
Documentation:
Organize and archive design drawings, material lists (BOM), and client confirmation forms.
Language:
Excellent English speaking and writing.

About You
Requirements
Education
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Environmental Art Design, or a related field.
Software Skills:
Proficient in
AutoCAD
and at least one 3D rendering software (e.g., 3ds Max, SketchUp, Kujiale, Sanweijia).
Professional Knowledge:
Understanding of furniture structures, materials (MDF, particleboard), hardware, and whole-house customization production processes.
Experience
No prior experience required
; fresh graduates are welcome. Experience in a furniture factory or custom cabinetry design is a plus.
Language:
Good English proficiency
, able to use English for written communication and daily spoken communication (with Chinese management and local clients). Amharic is a strong advantage.
Personal Attributes:
Strong communication skills, team player, hardworking, and comfortable working in both factory and on-site environments.
