Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing the Safety Risk Management process across program locations and managing vehicle fleet operations for the country coordination office. The role involves developing safety management policies, maintaining MOSS compliance, analyzing and reporting security trends, providing technical advice on safety procurement, and ensuring efficient, cost-effective transport scheduling, maintenance, and vehicle compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the Safety Risk Management process to cover all program locations and ensure compliance with Minimum Operating Safety Standards (MOSS).
Produce monthly and quarterly security analysis/reports, daily updates, and weekly summaries while maintaining relevant safety documentation and networks.
Work with logistics to budget for safety in grants and provide technical advice on safety-related equipment procurement.
Manage all coordination office cars and drivers, transport requirements, logbooks, fuel consumption, maintenance, and vehicle tool/first aid kits.
Plan, schedule, and assign in-town and field trip movements, manage rental vehicle contracts, inspections, and replacement processes.
Ensure all vehicles carry current on-board documentation, third-party insurance, annual technical inspections, and handle insurance claims and incident/accident reporting.
Manage the operations and inventory of generators across country and field offices.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
Education
University degree in supply chain management, logistics, auto mechanics, security and access training, or other relevant fields.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience with International NGOs in a related position, including context/security analysis and humanitarian access in fragile contexts.
Required Skills & Competencies
Fluency in English with an in-depth understanding of the Ethiopian context.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and report-writing abilities under pressure.
