Position Overview
We are seeking an engaging and analytical Economics Teacher to help students understand microeconomic and macroeconomic principles, global markets, and personal finance. The ideal candidate will bring real-world economic concepts to life, helping students critically analyze market trends, fiscal policy, and financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver curriculum covering microeconomics, macroeconomics, market structures, trade, and economic policy.
Integrate current events, global market trends, and real-world case studies into classroom discussions.
Teach students how to interpret economic data, supply and demand graphs, and quantitative models.
Assess student progress through exams, analytical essays, research projects, and case study evaluations.
Promote critical thinking around fiscal/monetary policies, economic ethics, and personal financial literacy.
Collaborate with the social studies department and keep parents and school leaders informed of student performance.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Social Science Education, Finance, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
Licensure:
Valid state or national teaching credential for secondary social studies, business education, or economics.
Experience
2+ years of teaching secondary or high school economics preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with educational technology, economic simulation tools, and quantitative graphing software.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional analytical ability, strong communication skills, dynamic presentation style, and effective classroom management.
