Job Summary

The Building Manager/Bookkekeper is responsible for the day-to-day administration and financial management of the building/association. The role involves overseeing building operations, maintenance, administrative staff, security, cleaning, and service providers while maintaining accurate financial records, managing collections and payments, preparing financial reports, processing payroll and taxes, and supporting audits.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Manage building maintenance, administrative staff, security, cleaning, and other service providers.

Coordinate with homeowners, members, vendors, clients, and internal staff to address concerns and resolve issues.

Represent the association and handle administrative errands and correspondence in both Amharic and English.

Prepare and submit daily operational reports to the Board.

Maintain accurate financial records and transactions using Peachtree accounting software.

Manage accounts receivable, including fee collection and issuance of receipts.

Process invoices, proforma invoices, vendor payments, and maintain organized financial documentation.

Monitor income and expenses and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Conduct bank and account reconciliations and identify financial discrepancies.

Process payroll, tax deductions, tax filings, and ensure timely tax payments.

Support external audits and provide required financial documentation and information.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in

Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field

.

Minimum of 1 year of financial/bookkeeping and administrative experience as a Property Manager or a similar position

Relevant experience in building administration, association management, accounting, finance, or a related field.

Practical experience with accounting software, particularly

Peachtree

.

Knowledge of financial reporting, accounts receivable, payroll, taxation, and bank reconciliation.

Knowledge of building administration, maintenance coordination, and service provider management is an advantage.

Requirements & Skills

Strong financial management and accounting skills.

Good knowledge of payroll processing, tax deductions, tax filings, and financial compliance.

Strong administrative, organizational, and record-keeping skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Fluency in

Amharic and English

, both written and verbal.

Ability to communicate effectively with homeowners, members, vendors, clients, staff, and the Board.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial and administrative information.

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work independently.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
