Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible, compassionate, and patient-focused Nurse with community pharmacy experience to support the day-to-day operations of our pharmacy. The successful candidate will provide basic nursing services, assist customers with appropriate health guidance, and support the pharmacy team in delivering excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide basic nursing services such as checking blood pressure, blood glucose, temperature, weight, and other routine health assessments.
Attend to customers and provide appropriate health education within the scope of practice.
Assist with OTC medication recommendations and refer patients to the pharmacist when necessary.
Support the pharmacist in patient counselling and medication-related enquiries.
Administer medications/injections where legally permitted and appropriately authorized.
Provide basic wound care and first aid when required.
Maintain accurate records of patient assessments and services provided.
Identify symptoms requiring medical attention and appropriately refer patients to a doctor or hospital.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, infection prevention, and patient safety.
Assist with stock monitoring and proper storage of medical and healthcare products.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional relationship with customers.
Work collaboratively with pharmacists and other pharmacy staff.
Perform other duties relevant to the smooth operation of the pharmacy.
Requirements
Registered and licensed Nurse in Nigeria(Well experienced Auxillary nurse is also acceptable).
Previous experience in a community pharmacy or retail healthcare setting is an advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good knowledge of basic nursing procedures and OTC healthcare products.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Professional, compassionate, reliable, and patient-focused.
Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualities
Community pharmacy experience.
Customer service and counselling skills.
Basic knowledge of skincare/cosmetics and health products is an added advantage.
Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with different types of customers.
Proximity to the pharmacy in Ushafa and flexibility to work assigned shifts.
