About the Role
The Program & Grants Officer will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the Foundation’s programs and projects.
The successful candidate will also play an important role in grant research, donor engagement, grantee monitoring, communications, and social media, helping the Foundation strengthen its impact and build relationships with current and prospective funders.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop practical experience in international development, nonprofit management, grant management, fundraising, and program implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Follow up with grantees to confirm that grant funds are being used appropriately and as intended
Track project milestones, collect progress updates, and flag issues or delays early
Support the preparation of grant reports and impact summaries for funders
Research prospective funders, foundations, and grant-making bodies aligned with SOF''s mission (education, water access, STEM)
Follow up with prospective funders on submitted applications and expressions of interest
Help maintain an organized pipeline of funding opportunities and application deadlines
Post occasionally on SOF''s social media channels to share program updates, stories, and milestones
Support the development of content that highlights SOF''s impact for donors and the public
Assist with organizing files and documentation for both inbound funding requests and outbound grant applications
Support the coordination of SOF programs and events (e.g., STEM initiatives, essay competitions, community outreach)
Liaise with community stakeholders, partner organizations, and volunteers as needed
Assist with drafting correspondence, updates, and other program-related materials
Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree in a relevant field
1–3+ years of experience in program/project coordination, nonprofit work, or grants management (or strong transferable experience)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable using social media platforms for organizational/professional communication
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple follow-ups and deadlines
Genuine interest in community development, education, or water access initiatives
Based in or willing to work within the Akoko/Ondo State area (adjust if remote is acceptable)
