The Assistant Manager provides overall strategic, commercial and operational leadership for Puffin Agro-Allied.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the subsidiary''s business strategy, driving revenue and profitability, developing strategic partnerships, overseeing agricultural and agro-allied operations, managing key customers and suppliers, and building a high-performing team.
This is a senior leadership role for an individual who can combine
agricultural knowledge, commercial acumen and strong business management capability
to build and scale an agro-allied business.
Requirements
Bachelor''s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or a related discipline.
A Master''s degree or relevant professional qualification will be an advantage.
Minimum of
6 years'' relevant professional experience
, with at least
3 years in a management or leadership position
.
Demonstrable experience in agriculture, agribusiness, agro-allied products, agricultural inputs, commodity trading, agricultural production, distribution or a related sector.
Strong commercial and business development experience, with evidence of generating revenue and growing business operations.
Experience managing budgets, financial performance and business targets.
Strong understanding of agricultural value chains and the Nigerian agro-allied market.
Experience developing and managing relationships with farmers, suppliers, distributors, corporate customers and other stakeholders.
Strong negotiation, business development and strategic planning skills.
Excellent leadership, people-management and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently, take ownership and make sound commercial decisions.
High level of integrity, accountability and professionalism.
Willingness and ability to travel as required for business operations.
