Description
The Treasury & Finance Officer will manage import trade finance transactions, support treasury operations, maintain effective relationships with banking partners, and ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
The role requires strong knowledge of trade finance, hands-on Oracle Cloud ERP experience, advanced Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to leverage AI-enabled tools to improve finance processes and reporting.
Responsibilities
Trade Finance: Manage end-to-end import trade finance transactions, including Letters of Credit (LCs), Bills for Collection, Form M, and other trade instruments in line with CBN and regulatory requirements.
Banking Relationships: Liaise directly with commercial and correspondent banks on trade finance transactions, funding requirements, documentation, and resolution of banking queries.
Treasury Operations: Process treasury transactions, monitor cash positions, and manage inter-company/inter-entity payment instructions.
ERP & Reconciliations: Use Oracle Cloud ERP for transaction processing, reconciliations, financial records, and reporting.
Reporting & Analysis: Prepare treasury reports, trade finance trackers, reconciliations, and management dashboards using advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Process Improvement & AI: Identify opportunities to use automation and AI-enabled tools to improve reconciliations, reporting, and routine treasury/trade finance processes.
Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls, treasury policies, CBN guidelines, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with Procurement, Logistics, Finance, and Group Treasury teams to ensure timely execution of import-related financial transactions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
3–5 years’ experience in treasury, trade finance, or banking operations, preferably within a manufacturing, petrochemical, or large corporate environment.
Strong working knowledge of import trade finance, includingLCs, Bills for Collection, Form M, trade documentation, and CBN requirements.
Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud ERP, particularly Finance/Treasury modules, is required.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Proven experience dealing directly with banks on trade finance and treasury transactions.
Strong understanding of financial controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Exposure to or interest in using AI-based tools for finance process automation and reporting is an advantage.
ACA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification is an added advantage.
Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
