Job Summary
The Storekeeper is responsible for the proper receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, spare parts, tools, and consumables used in the ready-mix concrete plant. The role ensures accurate stock records, maintains inventory control, and supports the smooth and uninterrupted operation of production and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Receive incoming materials and verify quantity, quality, and specifications against delivery notes and purchase orders.
Properly label and store items in designated storage locations.
Issue materials and spare parts to relevant departments upon authorized request.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory records using manual logs or store management systems.
Monitor stock levels and alert the Head of Store for replenishment needs.
Ensure all goods are stored in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
Assist in regular physical stock counts and reconciliation with system records.
Ensure proper documentation for all incoming and outgoing materials.
Handle and store hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
Support audits and inventory inspections as required.
Keep the store area clean, secure, and well-maintained.
Report any discrepancies, damages, or losses to the Head of Store immediately.
About You
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma or technical certificate; additional training in store keeping or logistics is an advantage.
Minimum 2 years of store-keeping experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or ready-mix concrete.
Familiarity with construction materials, mechanical spare parts, lubricants, and safety equipment.
Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or ERP systems.
Strong attention to detail and integrity in handling inventory.
Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving items as required.
Working Conditions:
Store and warehouse environment; may require working outdoors or in plant areas.
Requires lifting, standing, and moving throughout the workday.
May involve overtime during inventory counts or urgent supply situations.
