Job Summary

The Store Keeper will be responsible for managing spare parts inventory, maintaining accurate stock records, receiving and issuing materials, and ensuring the proper storage and availability of spare parts. The role requires strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and practical experience in inventory and stock control.

About the Job

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming spare parts and materials against purchase orders and delivery documents.

Properly store and organize spare parts to ensure easy identification, accessibility, and safe handling.

Issue spare parts and materials to maintenance and other authorized departments according to approved requests.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for all spare parts and stock items.

Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile physical quantities with inventory records.

Monitor stock levels and identify minimum and maximum stock requirements to prevent shortages or overstocking.

Track fast-moving, slow-moving, damaged, obsolete, and unused spare parts.

Prepare stock movement, inventory, and reconciliation reports as required.

Maintain proper documentation for receiving, issuing, transferring, and returning spare parts.

Coordinate with the maintenance, procurement, finance, and operations teams regarding spare parts requirements.

Support timely replenishment of critical spare parts and follow up on pending purchases.

Ensure proper labeling, coding, categorization, and storage of spare parts.

Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety within the spare parts store.

Ensure compliance with company inventory procedures and internal control requirements.

Report discrepancies, losses, damages, and other inventory-related issues to management.

Support internal and external audits by providing accurate inventory records and documentation.

Educational Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Management, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum of

2+ years of relevant work experience

in storekeeping, spare parts inventory, warehouse operations, stock control, or a related position.

Experience managing spare parts inventory in a manufacturing, automotive, construction, industrial, or maintenance environment is an advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

Good knowledge of spare parts inventory and stock control procedures.

Strong record-keeping and inventory reconciliation skills.

Ability to identify, categorize, label, and properly store different types of spare parts.

Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and stock management software.

Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.

High level of honesty, integrity, and accountability when handling company property and inventory.

Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
