Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SeniorCivil Engineer with 9–15 years of extensive hands-on experience in the construction industry.
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of working across multiple construction projects, including buildings, factories, industrial facilities, earthworks, infrastructure and other civil construction projects.
While a degree in Civil Engineering is an advantage, practical construction experience and a demonstrated track record of successfully executing projects are the primary requirements for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage civil construction activities from project commencement through completion.
Coordinate and oversee multiple construction projects and ensure timely project delivery.
Supervise contractors, subcontractors, site supervisors, artisans and other construction personnel.
Interpret and implement engineering drawings, designs, specifications and construction plans.
Oversee civil works including foundations, concrete works, structural works, earthworks, drainage, roads and other site development activities.
Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment and other resources required for project execution.
Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify and resolve construction delays.
Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections and monitor the quality of workmanship and materials.
Identify technical challenges on site and provide practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, quantity surveyors, MEP engineers, contractors, consultants and clients.
Monitor material usage and construction activities to minimise wastage and control project costs.
Participate in project and site meetings and provide regular progress reports to management.
Review contractors'' work and ensure completed works meet required standards.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including site reports, progress reports, inspection records and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements on all project sites.
Support project testing, snagging, rectification and final handover activities.
Travel to various project locations as required.
Requirements
9–15 years of relevant construction experience.
Proven experience working on multiple construction projects.
Strong practical knowledge of civil engineering and construction methods.
Demonstrated experience in site supervision and project execution.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and BOQs.
Strong understanding of construction materials, processes and quality control.
Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Willingness to travel and work across different project locations in Nigeria.
B.Sc. / B.Eng. in Civil Engineering is an advantage but not mandatory where the candidate has substantial and relevant practical construction experience.
COREN registration or other relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
Candidates should have substantial experience across multiple construction projects, with exposure to one or more of the following:
