Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, performing reconciliations, and supporting financial control and compliance. The role requires strong accounting knowledge and relevant experience in the Food & Beverage Manufacturing Industry, with the ability to analyze financial information and support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
Perform bank, cash, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reconciliations.
Monitor and review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cost-control activities.
Monitor manufacturing costs, expenses, inventory, and cost variances.
Support inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and valuation activities.
Review supplier invoices, payments, customer balances, and outstanding receivables.
Ensure proper documentation and authorization of financial transactions.
Assist in tax, statutory, and other accounting compliance requirements.
Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules, documents, and financial information.
Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Maintain proper financial documentation and organized accounting records.
Provide financial information and analysis to management as required.
Support improvements to accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
Educational Requirements
BA Degree in Accounting or a related field from a recognized university.
Experience
At least
5 years of directly related work experience
in the
Food & Beverage Manufacturing Industry
.
Practical experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial analysis is highly desirable.
Experience working with accounting software and computerized financial systems is an advantage.
