Spin 95.3 FM is an independent FM radio station based in Abia State, Nigeria. We are looking for a commercially driven
Media Sales & Business Development Executive
to take responsibility for growing the station''s advertising and commercial revenue. This is
not a general marketing, social media or customer service position
. We are looking for someone who understands how media advertising works, has an existing network of potential advertisers, agencies and business contacts, and can begin generating commercial opportunities immediately.
The successful candidate must be able to
hit the ground running
. You will be responsible for identifying prospects, pitching advertising opportunities, closing deals and following through to payment. This role is particularly suited to someone with proven experience selling radio, television, digital media, outdoor advertising, event sponsorships or other B2B advertising solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Generate Advertising Revenue
Identify and approach businesses, organisations, agencies and brands that could advertise on Spin 95.3 FM.
Develop new advertising opportunities across local, regional and national markets.
Sell radio advertising spots, programme sponsorships, branded segments, promotional packages, outside broadcasts and other commercial opportunities.
Reactivate previous and dormant advertisers where appropriate.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
Develop relationships that generate repeat and recurring advertising revenue.
Leverage Existing Industry Relationships
We are particularly interested in candidates who already have relationships with:
Media buying agencies
Advertising agencies
FMCG companies
Banks and financial institutions
Telecommunications companies
Healthcare organisations
Educational institutions
Real estate companies
Retail businesses
Hospitality businesses
Event organisers

You should be able to demonstrate how your existing professional network can translate into immediate commercial opportunities.
Prospecting & Sales
You will be expected to:
Conduct consistent outbound prospecting through phone, WhatsApp, email, LinkedIn and other appropriate channels.
Identify decision-makers and marketing contacts.
Arrange meetings and presentations.
Prepare and send proposals.
Follow up consistently and professionally.
Negotiate within approved pricing and commercial parameters.
Close advertising agreements.
Maintain relationships with existing clients and pursue renewals and repeat business.
Revenue & Collections
The role does not end when a client says “yes.”You will be expected to follow commercial opportunities through to payment, working with the Finance/Admin function to ensure that agreed invoices are settled. Commission is therefore calculated on
qualifying sales revenue actually collected
, rather than simply verbal commitments, bookings or unpaid invoices.

You will provide a concise weekly commercial report covering:
New prospects contacted
Follow-ups completed
Meetings held
Proposals sent
Deals closed
Revenue booked
Revenue collected
Outstanding payments
Current sales pipeline
Expected revenue for the following month
Compensation
Base Salary
₦70,000 per month
Commission: The position includes commission on qualifying advertising sales personally generated by the salesperson.
During the one-month probationary period:
10% commission
on qualifying sales revenue collected.
After successful completion of probation:
12% commission
on qualifying sales revenue collected.
Commission is paid monthly alongside the regular staff payroll.

If a salesperson personally generates and the client pays:
₦10,000 → ₦1,000 commission during probation
₦20,000 → ₦2,000 commission during probation
₦100,000 → ₦10,000 commission during probation
₦300,000 → ₦30,000 commission during probation
₦1,000,000 → ₦100,000 commission during probation

no commission ceiling
. The more revenue you generate, the more you earn.
First-Month Performance Expectations
The first month will serve as a

We are deliberately looking for someone who can demonstrate meaningful results quickly.
By the end of Week 1
The successful candidate should have:
Understood Spin 95.3 FM''s audience, programming, advertising inventory and commercial offering.
Received the station''s rate card and relevant sales materials.
Identified a minimum of
30 qualified prospects
.
Begun active outreach.
Reconnected with relevant existing industry contacts.
Established an initial sales pipeline.
By the end of Week 2
The candidate should have:
Built a minimum pipeline of
50 qualified prospects
.
Conducted substantial direct outreach.
Secured multiple conversations/meetings with potential advertisers.
Submitted initial proposals.
Demonstrated a credible pipeline capable of producing revenue.
Begun closing initial advertising opportunities.
By the end of Month 1
The minimum commercial performance target is:
₦500,000 in collected advertising revenue.
This represents the minimum expected demonstration of commercial ability during probation.
The longer-term objective for the successful candidate will be to build the station toward
₦1 million+ in monthly commercial revenue
, with targets reviewed as the sales pipeline develops.
Failure to demonstrate meaningful commercial activity, pipeline development and progress toward the required revenue target during the probationary period may result in the appointment not being continued.
What We Are Looking For
This role is
not suitable for someone looking to learn sales from scratch.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Proven B2B sales experience.
Experience selling advertising, media, sponsorships or related commercial services.
An existing professional network.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Confidence speaking directly with business owners and senior decision-makers.
Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
Excellent follow-up discipline.
Commercial awareness.
Ability to work with targets and deadlines.
Evidence of previously generating revenue or closing commercial deals.
Strong preference will be given to candidates who have:
Previous radio, television or media sales experience.
Existing relationships with advertisers or media-buying agencies.
Experience selling sponsorships or integrated advertising packages.
A demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Existing contacts within South-East Nigerian businesses and/or national brands and agencies.
A track record of converting professional relationships into paying clients.
Working Arrangement
This is a
fully remote position
.
The successful candidate will not be required to work from the Spin 95.3 FM office in Abia on a daily basis.
The role requires:
Reliable internet access.
A smartphone and laptop.
Ability to make professional calls and conduct virtual meetings.
Strong independent working habits.
Consistent communication with management.
Availability during normal business hours and for client meetings when required.
The salesperson will report
directly to the Owner/Director
and will work collaboratively with the Station Manager and Finance/Admin function where required.
Important
We are building a lean commercial operation and are therefore looking for someone who can
produce results, not simply perform sales activities.
We are not looking for someone who needs several months to build a pipeline before beginning to sell.
