Job Summary
The Regional Accountant ensures high-quality, customer-focused accounting support for Tearfund''s operations across the East and Central Africa region. Working closely with Tearfund''s Global Finance team, the role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency.
We are seeking a qualified accountant with relevant post-qualification experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, financial accounting, and finance systems. Experience with institutional donors, capacity building, and working within an international organisation will be a distinct advantage.
Required Qualifications
A fully qualified accountant holding a recognised professional accounting or auditing qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
Relevant post-qualification finance experience
Experience in finance capacity building and training
Substantial experience working with accounting software and online systems
Proven experience in budgeting and budget management
Proven experience in donor financial reporting
Exposure to organisational finance compliance
Proven experience in supporting programme teams in project design and management
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
The ability to communicate in French
Strong organisational and administrative skills
