Job Summary
The Quality Control and Assurance (QA/QC) Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure that construction and engineering activities comply with approved project specifications, quality standards, and applicable requirements. The role involves overseeing inspections and testing, managing non-conformities, coordinating quality audits, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting continuous improvement throughout project execution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Project Quality Plans (PQP) and Inspection and Test Plans to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Oversee site and fabrication inspections, material verification, and non-destructive testing (NDT) to ensure that materials, workmanship, and completed activities meet the required standards.
Identify, document, and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and coordinate corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues.
Coordinate internal and external quality audits and ensure that findings are documented, addressed, and followed up appropriately.
Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, test results, and documentation to ensure full traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead and coordinate QA/QC team members, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors on quality-related matters.
Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality procedures, and applicable standards.
Prepare quality reports and communicate inspection findings, non-conformities, and improvement recommendations to the relevant project teams.
Promote continuous improvement in quality management processes and support the implementation of effective quality control measures.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Work Experience
Five (5) years of relevant work experience, or two (2) to three (3) years of specific experience in QA/QC coordination or a related field, as applicable to the position.
Required Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures in construction or engineering projects.
Ability to prepare and implement Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and quality documentation.
Understanding of site inspections, material verification, testing procedures, and non-conformance management.
Strong documentation, reporting, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with engineers, inspectors, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams.
Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet project deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
