Job Description

The Project Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of all our projects including agroforestry and restoration interventions, youth E-STEM and environmental education programmes and community climate action initiatives.

The role requires a mid-level professional with 5–7 years of demonstrated project management experience, strong field coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple work streams, partners and deadlines simultaneously.

Key Duties and Responsibility:

Lead the planning, scheduling and execution of GRENCHI projects from inception to close-out. Ensure activities are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.

Coordinate field staff, volunteers and community facilitators across project communities.

Provide day-to-day supervision and technical guidance.

Develop and apply MEL frameworks and tools to track project indicators, document lessons learned and inform adaptive management.

Track project budgets and expenditure in coordination with the Finance Officer, ensure efficient and compliant use of project resources.

Prepare narrative and technical progress reports for donors and partners, ensuring alignment with grant agreements and reporting schedules.

Serve as a key liaison with community leaders, government agencies, schools and partner organisations.

Identify and mitigate project risks and ensure activities comply with GRENCHI''s policies and donor requirements.

Ensure timely documentation of project activities, outcomes and case studies, working closely with the Communications team.

Prepare annual report working with all team members

Support training and mentoring of junior staff, interns and volunteers involved in project delivery.

Any other responsibilities assigned to the candidate by the Executive Director as required

Qualification required:

BSc or MSc in Forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Development Studies, Project Management or a related field.

Additional certification in project management will be an added advantage.

Experience and Ideal Requirement

A minimum of 5–7 years'' progressive experience coordination, project management, community development, environmental and community-based projects.

Demonstrated experience managing donor-funded projects, including budgeting, work planning and reporting.

Strong understanding of project management tools and approaches (e.g. logframes,Theory of Change, MEL frameworks).

Proven experience coordinating field teams and working directly with rural or community stakeholders.

Familiarity with Nigeria''s environment, forestry, Nigeria’s National Determined

Contributions and climate change policy context is an advantage.

Excellent organisational, problem-solving and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including donor report writing.
