KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the execution of public health programs from planning through implementation, monitoring, and reporting
Conduct literature reviews, desk research, and evidence synthesis to inform program design and technical outputs
Assist in the preparation of technical deliverables, including proposals, reports, presentations, briefs, and knowledge products
Support project monitoring by maintaining work plans, trackers, implementation records, and performance data
Assist with research activities, including data collection, documentation, quality assurance, and study coordination
Analyze and synthesize program and research data to identify trends and generate insights for evidence-based decision-making
Support data collection, cleaning, and analysis for donor and client reporting
Coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements, including logistics
Document outcomes and follow up on actions arising from project activities
Support the monitoring of program progress against agreed indicators and work plans
Contribute to periodic reports, implementation updates, and client/donor communications
Build and maintain effective working relationships with government agencies, partners, consultants, and other stakeholders in Kano and beyond
Assist with client correspondence, meeting preparation, and follow-up
Maintain organized, confidential project documentation in line with ACE’s quality standards
Provide technical, administrative, and operational support for organizational priorities and other assignments as required
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field
1–3 years of relevant work, research, volunteer, or internship experience in health research, public health program, or a related field
Prior exposure to clinical research, implementation science, or newborn/maternal and child health is an advantage
Demonstrated interest in health systems strengthening, research administration, or evidence-to-policy work
Familiarity with the Nigerian health system and/or experience working with academic, government, or non-profit institutions is desirable
Skills and Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear reports, briefs, and correspondence
Good organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data tools is an advantage
Basic problem-solving and analytical skills, applied to program design, monitoring, and evaluation tasks
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive institutional and research information
Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to engage with diverse stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, and government partners
A proactive, solutions-oriented approach, initiative, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced institutional environment
Demonstrated cooperation and teamwork within program and research teams
