The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient dispensing of medications while providing professional guidance to patients and staff. The role includes maintaining accurate pharmaceutical records, managing inventory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting high standards of patient care. The Pharmacist will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver quality service and uphold the company’s operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Dispensing & Patient Care

Accurately dispense prescription and OTC medications in line with legal and professional standards.

Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, interactions, and contraindications.

Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and storage.

Promote rational drug use and ensure patient safety is prioritized.

Inventory & Stock Management

Ensure adequate stock levels of medications and supplies.

Monitor stock expiry, shortages, and discrepancies.

Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile variances.

Liaise with procurement team for timely replenishment of goods.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure all operations comply with PCN, NAFDAC, and relevant regulatory standards.

Maintain accurate documentation including prescription records, controlled drug registers, and inventory logs.

Ensure proper storage of drugs according to temperature and safety requirements.

Customer Service & Professional Conduct

Attend to customers politely and professionally.

Resolve customer complaints with empathy and professionalism.

Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Operational & Administrative Duties

Oversee daily pharmacy operations and staff where necessary.

Ensure cleanliness and proper arrangement of shelves.

Participate in internal audits and quality improvement activities.

Prepare periodic reports as required by management.

Must reside within Akwa Ibom and Cross River

Job Requirements

Educational & Professional Qualifications

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).

Current Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN) license to practice.

NYSC discharge certificate (or exemption letter).

Experience

Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in a community or hospital pharmacy setting.

Experience with inventory management and dispensing software is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of medicines, pharmacology, and patient counseling.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Ability to work under pressure and multitask.

Good leadership ability when supervising pharmacy assistants or interns.

Strong ethical standards and integrity.
