Key Responsibilities
Review and accurately dispense prescriptions issued by authorized medical practitioners.
Ensure the correct medicine, dosage, strength, quantity, and instructions are provided.
Counsel patients on the proper use, dosage, possible side effects, and storage of medications.
Identify and resolve prescription errors or potential drug interactions before dispensing.
Provide professional pharmaceutical advice to patients and healthcare providers.
Participate in medication reviews and provide recommendations where necessary.
Monitor pharmacy stock levels and ensure the availability of essential medicines.
Ensure pharmacy operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Maintain proper records of controlled and restricted medicines.
Ensure accurate documentation of prescriptions, dispensing, stock movement, and pharmaceutical interventions.
Support inspections and regulatory requirements of relevant pharmacy authorities.
Work closely with doctors, nurses, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to medication-related decisions where required.
Maintain proper records of controlled drugs and other regulated medicines.
Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognized institution.
Must be registered and licensed to practice as a pharmacist in Nigeria.
Current practicing license/certificate as applicable.
Previous hospital or clinical pharmacy experience is an advantage.
