Purpose of the Role
Responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payroll process to ensure accurate, timely, compliant, confidential, and well-controlled payroll processing. The role provides review and oversight of payroll calculations, reconciliations, statutory compliance, payments, reporting, and payroll accounting.
Responsibilities of the Role
Oversee and manage the
end-to-end monthly payroll process
, including payroll changes and processing in the S4 system.
Capture, validate, and process new hires, terminations, salary changes, promotions, allowances, deductions, overtime, bonuses, loans, benefits, and other payroll inputs based on approved documents.
Review and validate inputs, gross salary, deductions, tax, pension, and net pay to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and review payroll reconciliation by
GL account, payroll component, cost center, employee category, and bank payment
.
Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies and variances before payroll approval.
Prepare and review
bank payment files, payment letters, and supporting documentation
for approval and processing.
Prepare and submit income tax, pension, cost-sharing, and other statutory payroll reports and payments.
Prepare payroll journals, GL reconciliation schedules, and supporting documents to ensure accurate financial posting.
Prepare regular and ad-hoc payroll reports, analysis, and management information as required.
Maintain accurate payroll records, documentation, confidentiality, system access controls, and audit requirements.
Ensure compliance with payroll procedures, approval controls, statutory requirements, and the approved payroll calendar.
Manage employee payroll queries, payslip distribution, and timely resolution of payroll-related issues.
Identify and implement payroll process improvements, automation opportunities, and S4 system enhancements.
Ensure business continuity through proper payroll documentation, backup arrangements, and knowledge management.
Coordinate with
HR, Finance, Tax, banks, auditors, system support, and other stakeholders
on payroll-related matters.
About You
Education / Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Professional certification in Payroll, Accounting, Finance, or HR is an advantage.
Experience: 3
–5 years of relevant payroll experience. Experience with end-to-end payroll, S4/SF, payroll reconciliation, statutory reporting, and payroll accounting is required.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing; S4/SAP payroll systems; gross-to-net calculations; tax and pension; payroll reconciliation; GL and journal reconciliation; Excel (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, IF); bank payment processing; statutory reporting; payroll reporting and analysis; internal controls and audit requirements.
