About the role
Provides optometric assessment and management of patients, delivering eye-care services and contributing to the effective running of the service.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual function.
Diagnose and manage refractive and common ocular conditions, and refer appropriately.
Prescribe and oversee optical and therapeutic management within scope of practice.
Maintain accurate clinical records.
Required skills
Knowledge of optometric assessment and clinical eye care appropriate to the role.
Ability to diagnose and manage refractive and common ocular conditions.Sound clinical record-keeping.

Nice to have
Postgraduate training in a clinical optometry specialty.Certification relevant to the area of practice.Membership of a recognised professional association.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of post-registration/post-internship experience in the relevant profession; newly registered practitioners may be considered.
Education
Doctor of Optometry (OD) from a recognised institution. Completion of the required national internship and NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
