Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometrist with 0 to 5 years of experience to provide primary visual and ocular healthcare. In this role, you will perform routine and advanced eye examinations, diagnose visual impairments and ocular diseases, prescribe corrective eyewear and therapeutic treatments, and counsel patients on preventative eye care.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Eye Examinations:
Perform detailed assessments of visual acuity, refractive errors, binocular vision, and color vision using standard optometric techniques.
Diagnosis & Care Management:
Identify visual disorders, external/internal eye diseases, and systemic conditions affecting vision; prescribe corrective eyeglasses, contact lenses, or therapeutic medications according to scope of practice.
Patient Counseling & Education:
Guide patients on proper contact lens usage, hygiene practices, ergonomic adjustments, and preventative eye care to protect long-term vision.
Referrals & Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Coordinate with ophthalmologists, medical specialists, and primary care physicians for patients requiring surgical intervention or specialized systemic management.
Clinical Documentation & Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with health regulations and ensure proper calibration and operation of optical instruments.
Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree or Bachelor of Science (BSc) / Master of Science (MSc) in Optometry from an accredited university.
Work Experience
0 to 5 years of clinical optometric practice (fresh graduates with valid professional credentials are welcome to apply).
Licensure & Certification:
Active, valid license or registration to practice optometry from the recognized national or regional health regulatory authority.
Technical & Diagnostic Skills:
Hands-on proficiency with standard optical equipment, including phoropters, slit lamps, autorefractors, tonometers, and digital retinal imaging systems.
