About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Optician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing and fitting eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision-correcting devices, as well as providing exceptional customer service and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
Interpret the results of eye examinations, using prescriptions written by Optometrists, and advise patients on suitable lens and frame options
Measure, fit, adapt, and adjust eyewear, and carry out minor repairs (e.g., replacing hinges, nose pads, or temples)
Measure clients'' bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centres, using measuring devices
Prepare and deliver work orders to the laboratory for lens grinding and eyewear fabrication
Verify the quality and measurements of finished lenses/materials returned from the lab to ensure they match specifications
Maintain accurate records, ensure orders for glasses and contact lenses are processed correctly, and provide excellent customer service
Also perform other duties assigned to you within your Field
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Optician
Diploma or degree in Opticianry or a related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
