About the Job
To operate equipment and processes within the Utilities to deliver high-quality products efficiently and safely. Operators play a key role in reducing waste, ensuring product consistency, and meeting sustainability and production targets. Assist safe operation and maintenance of machinery and production lines in the assigned process lines by configuring the equipment, loading and operating the machines and reducing down-time so as to produce products that continuously meet the quality standards and quantity targets as per the schedule set.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety, hygiene, and quality standards consistently across operations.
Operate and monitor machinery and process control systems (HMI/SCADA) and record/report relevant alarms for timely diagnosis.
Completing daily and weekly tasks using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure quality and repeatable results.
Ensure continuous operation of assigned process equipment through active process monitoring, troubleshooting, and timely intervention.
Perform basic troubleshooting, changeovers, and minor maintenance, including CLIT (Cleaning, Lubrication, Inspection, Tightening).
Effectively communicating job knowledge and process changes with team members and management through various forms of daily communication (shift handover meeting, daily production meetings, action logs, work orders, etc.).
Performing quality inspection of products using basic lab equipment and SOP’s as a guide.
Maintain accurate operational and quality documentation, including production logs, inspection checklists, sanitation reports, and batch records.
Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and quality standards. Maintaining sanitation of machinery, equipment, storage bins, workstations, etc.
Reporting safety and/or equipment issues to line manager and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.
Ensure proper segregation, reduction, and disposal of waste materials and report to Senior operator & team leader.
Participate in effective communication and coordination with team members and management (shift handover meetings, production meetings, action logs, work orders.
Follow recipes/standard consumption parameters to minimize losses and maintain process efficiency.
Collaborate & Cross validate the maintenance task, also involve in overhaul & major maintenance.
Contribute to efficiency improvement by monitoring Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reporting areas of loss.
Responsible to report problem(S) regarding the integrated management system such as on FSMS, QMS, EMS, and OHSMS to QSHE supervisor and/or his immediate supervisor
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager
Record and report production and quality data accurately. Conduct in-process quality checks (e.g. fill level, sealing, labeling, pressure, flow rates).
About You
The position requires a minimum of TVET Level ¾ or Diploma and CoC certification in Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Mechanics or Industrial Electricity or Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Electricity or Electronic Engineering/Chemistry/chemical engineering/Food science
2-4 years’ experience in an FMCG manufacturing shop floor setting
Ability to manage well under pressure while staying true to the company values.
Strong work ethic and willingness to take on any task.
Demonstrated team player.
Reliable and punctual - must adhere to attendance and absenteeism policy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work while multitasking.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to receive regular feedback and act upon it accordingly.
Demonstrated drive for learning and teaching/sharing best practices with others
Basic use of PC skills such as MS office, excel, word, and email
