We are recruiting a
Mobile Sales Representative
on behalf of our client, a leading company in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry. In this dynamic, field-based role, you will act as a traveling brand ambassador and sales driver. You will be responsible for navigating assigned territories, managing on-the-ground customer relationships, distributing products directly from your vehicle, generating new business, and achieving sales targets.
This role requires a highly driven individual capable of combining mobile field sales with safe logistics, accurate stock tracking, and efficient cash handling.
Key Responsibilities
Field Sales & Market Expansion
Territory Coverage:
Follow and optimize assigned daily sales routes to maximize customer coverage, outlet visits, and sales opportunities.
Target Achievement:
Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly field sales targets within your designated territory.
Lead Generation:
Actively visit existing retail outlets and source prospective customers to continuously expand the client base.
Consultative Selling:
Promote the company’s FMCG portfolio, explain key product features, and leverage opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
Market Intelligence:
Monitor and report on localized market activities, customer feedback, competitor pricing/promotions, and changing product demands.
Mobile Logistics & Stock Management
Safe Fleet Operation:
Drive the company vehicle safely and responsibly to assigned territories and customer locations, adhering strictly to road safety regulations.
Inventory Accountability:
Load, arrange, and secure products within the vehicle to prevent damage while maintaining 100% stock accountability.
Order Fulfillment:
Receive, process, and accurately fulfill customer orders directly from the vehicle, ensuring delivery matches the approved order.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Ensure the assigned company vehicle remains clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained; promptly report any mechanical faults or maintenance needs.
Customer Service & Financial Administration
Relationship Management:
Build and sustain strong, trusting relationships with route retailers, wholesalers, and distributors to ensure excellent customer service.
Cash & Payment Handling:
Collect customer payments upon delivery, ensuring accurate physical documentation and timely remittance of funds.
Discrepancy Reporting:
Closely monitor vehicle stock levels and promptly report any shortages, damaged goods, expired products, or inventory discrepancies.
Reporting:
Maintain precise daily records of sales, orders, deliveries, cash collections, and stock movements. Submit complete daily reports to the Sales Supervisor.
Requirements
Education
Minimum of SSCE.
Licensing:
Valid driver’s license with an excellent, verifiable driving record.
Experience
1–2 years of proven experience in mobile sales, route sales, FMCG distribution, van sales, or a highly related field.
Sales Track Record:
Demonstrated ability to drive field sales, generate orders, and hit commercial targets.
Core Skills:
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Basic numerical capabilities for cash handling and record-keeping are essential.
Physical Fitness:
Physically fit and fully capable of loading, unloading, and organizing FMCG products throughout the day.
Attributes:
High level of integrity, trustworthy, safety-conscious, self-motivated, and highly customer-focused.
Territory Knowledge:
In-depth, practical knowledge of the road networks within the assigned Lagos territories (Mainland, Marina, Satellite Town, Obalende, Ibeju Lekki).
