Role Purpose
The position holder will be responsible for the technical quality, implementation, and delivery of mobile health and nutrition services in the assigned Woreda. The role will primarily focus on the daily implementation of ANC, family planning, pregnant mother consultations, outreach EPI, health education, sanitation, safe motherhood, and child health services in accordance with the Amhara RHB mobile health and nutrition team guidelines.
The position holder will also support health facilities assigned under the integrated mobile health and nutrition modality, including daily dispensary and drug supply management. The role is responsible for documenting services provided to pregnant mothers, women of childbearing age, children, and community members, as well as compiling weekly and monthly reports and sharing them with the Mobile Health and Nutrition Officer and Woreda Health Offices.
Key Areas of Accountability
Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of mobile health and nutrition activities, including site selection and preparation of weekly movement plans.
Provide basic health and nutrition services, including community ANC, family planning (FP), IMNCI/ICCM, safe motherhood, emergency services, referrals, health education, and EPI, in accordance with MOH Mobile Health and Nutrition Guidelines.
Facilitate the provision of essential drugs, supplies, and therapeutic products for the team and selected health facilities.
Facilitate training and work closely with MOH staff at health posts, health centers, hospitals, and district level.
Organize and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly overviews and reports on ANC, FP, EPI, health education, consultations, and other services provided.
Ensure an effective referral system and linkage between mobile services and health facilities.
Ensure adherence to medical and nutritional treatment protocols and procedures for children and infants.
Provide on-site training and technical support to Health Extension Workers (HEWs) and nurses.
Ensure that appropriate job aids are available at health posts, including HEW quick references, lookup tables, reporting formats, tally sheets, Plumpy''Nut materials, and drug stock control/balance forms.
Receive weekly reports from HEWs, cross-check their completeness and accuracy, and submit them to Woreda Project Officers.
Mentor and assist HEWs in making decisions regarding patients at severe risk who require referral or transfer to a nearby hospital.
Participate in capacity-building training, health education sessions, and ENA/BCC activities.
Follow up with absentees and defaulters and maintain up-to-date records of beneficiaries and staff, including CHAs and volunteers.
Support continuous improvement of the quality, coverage, and accessibility of mobile health and nutrition services.

Education
Degree in Midwifery or Nursing.
BSc or College Diploma in Nursing and/or another relevant health-related field.
Experience
Minimum of two years of relevant work experience for BSc degree holders.
At least two years of relevant working experience, including experience directly related to emergency health and nutrition.
At least two years of NGO experience in a related field is required.
Knowledge, training, and practical experience in IMAM and community mobilization/BCC are required.
Technical and Professional Skills
Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, and monitoring.
Demonstrated skills in peer-group training and Training of Trainers (ToT).
Ability to develop and deliver training materials.
Strong knowledge of community health and nutrition service delivery.
Understanding of emergency health and nutrition programming.
Knowledge and experience in IMAM and community mobilization/BCC.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in spoken and written English and the relevant local language.

Knowledge of the local language, particularly Somali, is an asset and may be mandatory depending on the assigned location.
