Job Description
We are seeking a competent and motivated Medical Officer for a 4-month contract position, with an interest in career development in Internal Medicine, Medical Specialties, or Critical Care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical care and management of patients with acute and chronic medical conditions under appropriate supervision.
Develop competence through on-the-job learning in clinical assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and management of medical conditions.
Perform basic clinical procedures and diagnostic tests as required.
Participate in treatment, preventive healthcare, and other clinical services as delegated by the supervising healthcare provider.
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using the EMR.
Maintain patient confidentiality, professionalism, and impartiality at all times.
Liaise effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and quality patient care.
Provide clinical instructions and support to nursing staff and other clinical teams as required.
Adhere to the hospital’s clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Requirements
Degree in Medicine (MBBS) from an accredited university.
1–3 years of post-qualification experience as a Medical Officer.
Successful completion of NYSC.
Current registration and a valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Good knowledge of General Medicine.
Computer literacy and ability to use electronic medical records (EMR).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good counselling, listening, and patient-care skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Willingness to work within the requirements of a 4-month contract.
