To strengthen our growing operations in Kano, NutriK is seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Production Department.
Overall Mission
General objective:
To ensure the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all plant machinery, equipment, and utilities by performing preventive, corrective, and improvement maintenance activities in accordance with company standards, safety regulations, and production requirements.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Preventive Maintenance:
Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities according to approved maintenance schedules
Monitor equipment condition and performance to prevent unplanned downtime
Perform routine inspections, lubrication, calibration, and servicing of machines and utilities
Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records
Corrective & Breakdown Maintenance:
Diagnoses, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions
Coordinate emergency repairs safely and efficiently
Identify root causes of failures and recommend corrective action
Equipment Installation & Improvement:
Support installation, commissioning, and testing of new machinery and equipment
Propose and implement equipment modifications and improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
Participate in continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives
Safety, Health & Environment (HSE):
Perform all maintenance activities in compliance with HSE rules and company safety policies
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions or practices
Participate in safety drills, risk assessments, and toolbox talks
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed maintenance logs, checklists, and technical reports
Update equipment history and spare parts usage records
Prepare maintenance reports on failures, downtime, and completed activities
Spare Parts & Tools Management:
Assist in identifying spare parts requirements
Ensure correct use and care of maintenance tools and equipment
Coordinate with stores and procurement for availability of critical spares
Teamwork & Coordination:
Support and guide technicians during maintenance activities
Coordinate maintenance work with production to minimize operational disruptions
Liaise effectively with external contractors and service providers
Required Skills
Language skills – English.
Education degree – Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
Work experience – Minimum 2–5 years of relevant maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel & Outlook.

Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Preventive maintenance methodologies
Health and safety regulations
Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment efficiently
Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
Use maintenance tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic instruments
Prepare maintenance reports and documentation.
