Job Summary
To support the implementation and monitoring of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG), and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs across the factory. The role focuses on assisting with workplace safety inspections, environmental monitoring, compliance documentation, employee awareness, and sustainability initiatives to promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Occupational Health and Safety:
Assist in identifying workplace hazards, conducting safety inspections, monitoring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and reporting unsafe conditions.
Environmental Monitoring:
Support waste management, water and energy usage monitoring, and other environmental protection activities.
Social Responsibility:
Assist in monitoring workplace hygiene, employee welfare, and compliance with basic labour and safety standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain safety inspection checklists, incident records, training attendance sheets, and environmental monitoring reports.
Risk Prevention:
Participate in factory walkthroughs to identify potential hazards and follow up on corrective actions under supervision.
Cross-Departmental Coordination:
Work with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, and Human Resources teams to promote workplace safety and environmental compliance.
Training and Awareness:
Assist in organizing safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for factory employees.
Incident Reporting:
Report accidents, near-misses, unsafe practices, and environmental concerns to the immediate supervisor.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor or Factory Manager.
Specific Duties
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness in production areas, workshops, chemical storage areas, and waste collection points.
Conduct routine workplace safety checks using established inspection checklists.
Monitor employees' compliance with PPE requirements and report violations to the supervisor.
Assist in investigating workplace incidents and documenting findings under supervision.
Follow up on corrective and preventive actions and report outstanding issues.
Ensure that safety signs, emergency exits, and firefighting equipment remain accessible and report any identified problems promptly.
Working Conditions
The position involves a combination of office-based documentation and regular factory-floor inspections.
The employee must be willing to spend significant time in production areas, monitoring equipment safety, PPE compliance, workplace hygiene, and environmental conditions.
The role requires the ability to walk around the factory and access designated inspection areas while following all applicable safety procedures.
Appropriate PPE must be worn whenever entering designated production and operational areas.

The Junior ESG and OHS Officer is expected to:
Complete assigned safety inspections and maintain accurate records.
Promptly report hazards, incidents, and unsafe working conditions.
Support compliance with company safety and environmental procedures.
Assist in implementing corrective actions and awareness activities.
Demonstrate continuous learning and a commitment to workplace safety and environmental responsibility.
About You
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental health Science or a related field.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. 2.8
Basic knowledge of workplace safety, environmental protection, and industrial risk management is an advantage.
Knowledge of International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards or other relevant environmental and social sustainability standards is an added advantage but not mandatory.
