Responsibilities
Maintain proper documentation and filing of invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other financial records.
Record and update financial transactions accurately in the company''s accounting system.
Assist in preparing financial documents and schedules required for external financial audits.
Support departmental internal audit activities by gathering relevant documentation and reconciling records with the company''s accounting software.
Verify that accounting records are consistent with the systems or software (e.g., QuickBooks)
Process and monitor routine departmental expenses while ensuring compliance with company financial policies.
Prepare payment requests and maintain supporting documentation for approvals.
Assist with bank, cash, and petty cash reconciliations.
Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and account reconciliations.
Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on supporting documentation where necessary.
Ensure all financial records are complete, accurate, and readily available for review.
Assist with inventory and fixed asset record verification where required.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Requirements
Bachelor''s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Minimum of
one (1) year
of experience in an accounting support role, assisting an Accountant or Finance Officer.
Sound understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Working knowledge of
QuickBooks
, ERP systems, or other accounting software is an added advantage.
Knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory remittances is an added advantage.
