About the Role
We are a hotel based in Addis Ababa looking for an IT Support Specialist. The role involves daily maintenance and technical support for the hotel's network, Property Management System (PMS), guest room internet, and various hardware/software. As this role involves
lifting heavy equipment, cabling work, and emergency night-shift responses
, we are looking for a physically capable, resilient technician who can adapt to shift work.
Key Responsibilities
Daily IT Support:
Install, configure, and troubleshoot computers, printers, routers, and switches across the front desk, guest rooms, F&B areas, and offices.
System Maintenance:
Maintain the Property Management System (PMS), door lock systems, Wi-Fi networks, and CCTV systems to ensure smooth hotel operations.
Network & Cabling:
Assist in laying, maintaining, and repairing internal network cables (requires physical stamina, such as running cables, climbing ladders, and moving equipment).
Emergency Response:
Adapt to the hotel industry's nature; respond quickly to urgent IT failures during nights or weekends.
Data Security & Backup:
Assist in server data backups and basic network security protection.
Asset Management:
Responsible for IT asset registration, distribution, and inventory management.
About You
Requirements
Education
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
1+ year of IT support or network maintenance experience; hotel IT experience is a plus.
Language Skills:
Good English proficiency
, able to read technical documents and communicate basic spoken English with expat management and guests. Amharic is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Familiar with Windows OS, LAN configuration, and basic routing/switching; able to troubleshoot hardware and network issues independently.
Physical & Working Conditions (Core):
This role requires physical labor (e.g., lifting heavy equipment, cabling) and adaptability to shift work (including night shifts) and on-call emergency repairs.
